The recovery of souls is generally still the main goal in the game. The second war is the battle for the vacant throne position between the three races. The player assumes the role of Vestige – an adventurer who lost his soul and was killed by a Daedric agent named Molag Bal. The game structure is quite similar to Skyrim, including 2 main parallel content: the battle against Molag Bal and the king position in Teamriel. The events of the game take place 1000 years before The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, about 800 years before The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game does not offer an offline single player mode, but only online.
